I MET AN OLYMPIC DIVER!

Posted on Aug 21 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Sorry I haven’t posted in forever, we’re really busy with getting ready to move and stuff. Anyway, if you’re watching the Olympics, you might have heard about the diver, Laura Wilkinson. Well, I actually met her last spring. I have her autograph to prove it.

She was at The Revolve Tour and she was a speaker there. Afterwards you could go and meet her. It was so awesome! She said that she was going to be diving in the 2008 Summer Olympics and that we should all root for her. I’ve been waiting for them so I could watch her dive.

I saw her last night and she was amazing! And the announcers always made a point of saying how friendly she was and how she was always smiling. And I thought it was cool because she’s a Christian, and she’s just having a good time. She’s diving again tonight I think, so you should watch her, because she’s awesome!

SATURDAY PHOTO HUNT: COLORFUL

Posted on Aug 16 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

This week’s Photohunt theme is colorful, and this picture is really colorful. It was taken in St. Thomas, one of the U.S. Virgin Islands. There was this bird show where the birds did all sorts of tricks like mini bicycles and stuff. After the show you could get your picture taken with some of the birds.

Here’s Nick and I holding a bunch of birds.

It was kind of scary because those birds can actually bite off your fingers, not to mention they’re surprisingly heavy. But it was really cool anyway.

THE ENDLESS SALAD BAR ENDED

Posted on Aug 14 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Here is yet another example of the constant sarcasm that travels through our house. My dad, brother, and I were driving to Kings Island for the day, when we passed a restaurant with one of those signs where you can change the letters. The sign said, “Endless salad bar!”

As we drove by, we saw there was another sign in the window saying that the building was for sale. So my dad said, “I think the endless salad bar ended.” We all burst out laughing. Yup, that’s the kind of stuff we say all the time. Out first language is sarcasm. It’s true.

WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE?

Posted on Aug 12 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

If you didn’t know, the 2008 summer Olympics are on right now, so every night my family gathers around our TV to root on the Americans. The other night we were watching swimming and they were introducing all the swimmers. They showed this one Chinese girl who was only 14 years old.

I was shocked to see someone so young competing in the Olympics, and I made a point of telling everyone else that she was my age. Nick looked at me and said, “What are you doing with your life?” Well, it’s definitely not swimming in the Olympics, that’s for sure!

Whiskey Nick’s

Posted on Aug 09 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

When I was in Canada with my Gma and Gpa, we were driving in the car and saw a bar called Whiskey Nick’s. Of course we all joked about how my brother, Nick, opened up a bar and was serving whiskey. Then we noticed that one of the patio chairs was actually on the roof. Yes, on the roof.

Somebody had one too many drinks!

DOG-SITTING!

Posted on Aug 08 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

This week my family is dog-sitting my Gma and Gpa’s dog, Maddie. She’s an absolute maniac! She’ll go outside and run around in circles at lightning speed, then flop on the ground and sleep for two hours. She’s a great guard dog, and barks and growls when the people living across the street come out of their house.

Maddie also dreams a lot. She’ll be lying on the floor and all of a sudden start twitching and wiggling her paws like she’s running. Then she’ll open and close her mouth like she’s eating something. Last night she even sleep barked. She was sleeping in my room and half the night she was barking, but she was still asleep.

Here is a picture of Maddie. Isn’t she adorable?

My Gma and Gpa had to drive all the way to Tennessee to pick her up. She didn’t exactly like the drive, so now she’s afraid of riding in cars. She drools like crazy and throws up a lot. Once she threw up on me, it was so nasty!

MOVING: GOOD AND BAD

Posted on Aug 07 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Well, a lot of you already know about it from my mom’s blog, but we’re going to be moving near the end of September. So I thought I’d give you my opinion on our move to Florida.

PROS, GOOD THINGS, THINGS I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO. (WHICHEVER YOU PREFER)
-I’ll get to start over and be a “new person.” I can make new friends and stuff.
-I’ll still have my family with me.
-Trying out different theater programs. As much as I love the Davis, it’ll be nice to see how things are run elsewhere. Not to mention there is some sort of children’s theater thing at Universal Studios.
-Eventually we’ll live about 2 miles away from the Magic Kingdom.
-There will be other kids right next door to hang out with instead of only seeing my friends about once a week.

CONS, BAD THINGS, THING’S I’M NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO. (TAKE YOUR PICK)
-I won’t ever see some of my friends again. If I listed everybody’s name it would take up 5 lines, and I’d probably accidentally forget someone and that wouldn’t be good. So if you’re my friend, imagine yourself on my imaginary list of people I will miss.
-Ohio State Football. I am going to miss going to the games with my dad. Luckily he already said he and I are going to fly back up for the Michigan game. GO BUCKS!
-Leaving the house I’ve lived in for pretty much my entire life. I get very attached to inanimate objects sometimes, and our house is no exception. When you’ve lived somewhere since you were about 4, it’s hard to leave it.
-Leaving Dingle. For those of you who are like, “What the heck is Dingle?” Well, he’s my cat. He lives outside because he has certain… um… “issues” that prevent him from living indoors. We’re going to give him to a person who has a barn. He’ll like it a lot because he loves to hunt for mice and stuff. He’s really old though, he’s 11.
-Leaving the Davis is going to be hard too. That’s the theater I’ve done pretty much all my shows at. Here’s a list of the shows I’ve been in there.

JUST A RANDOM PICTURE!

Posted on Aug 06 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Well, I couldn’t really think of anything interesting to say today. So instead I’m going to show you a really random picture. This will also help you understand what types of little things amuse me.

When I was in Canada with my Gma and Gpa we went to this really cool canal with locks in it. There was an inside part to it where you could learn all about the canal, but there was also a really cool mirror. It was up near the ceiling and so I got the brilliant idea to take my own picture!

Img 4648

My Gpa totally copied my idea, but that’s ok. Isn’t that so cool? It really made my day! Of course, the locks were pretty cool too, and we got to see a big barge go through it. Then there were three military ships that went through as well.

Mirrors rock. That’s all I have to say.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH YOUR DORKY THINGS: THE DORKY HATS EDITION!

Posted on Aug 04 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

When I’m bored I do random stuff. Really random stuff. For example, I produce my own show called, “What Can You do with Your Dorky Things.” I use my MacBook, a few props, and my imagination! If you haven’t seen the first three episodes, they’re on Youtube. But this is the most recent one I’ve done. Oh yeah, Bob is my manager. (He’s an imaginary manager.)

Yes, it’s all improve. Obviously I know what it’s going to be about, but I don’t write a script or anything like that. I just ramble on as I think about what to ramble about next! This video was done in three takes. The first one I accidentally dropped one of the hats. The second one was perfect except something happened with the sound and it didn’t work. And the third one went smoothly and ended up not only here, but on Youtube. I hope you enjoyed it!

DEEP FRIED TWINKIES!

Posted on Aug 02 2008 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Yesterday evening my mom and dad surprised my brother and me by telling us that we were going to the Ohio State Fair. I love the fair, especially the food. We don’t ride the lame rides, or play any of the games, but we do eat. Most of the time we eat stuff that’s going to kill us in a few years. Such as deep fried Twinkies.

Yes, you read that right, deep fried Twinkies. Because Twinkies aren’t bad enough for you anyway, let’s stick them in a big vat of grease. I know it sounds disgusting, but it’s actually really good.

Here I am with my deep fried Twinkie. I shared it with the rest of the family of course!
Img 4883

A couple years ago we went to the fair and I ate 2 1/2 of them. I also had kettle corn, corn on the cob, a lemonade shake-up, probably some pizza, soda, etc. etc. I pretty much threw up grease that night. I haven’t eaten that much fair food in one night since then!

So if you ever go to a fair and see that they have deep fried Twinkies, don’t go, “Ewwwww! That’s nasty!” You should try one. Trust me, don’t eat any more then that. I know from experience.
